How do you know what love is if you have never experienced it? Love or infatuation? How's one to tell?
Sophia is having trouble navigating these new experiences during her first year in college. Each time someone tells her to follow her heart, she is even more confused and frustrated. Away from home and her friends, she needs to figure out who she is.
From my review:
Naive in Love
by Tori Alvarez
Great debut novel! Many life changes and first experiences were depicted very well in this book and the characters were relatable. It took me a little while to get into, but once the MC settled into her new life as a college freshman the story took off. There were a few times where I wished I could have put a bug in Sophia’s ear about a certain bad news boyfriend. But then, YAY! Ethan stepped in and saved the day! Nice coming of age story. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys NA romances that revolve around college life.

Elayne MacNally knew one thing for certain: Her reputation as the willful harpy of the highlands was well earned.
As the spoiled daughter of the successful Laird MacNally, Elayne got whatever she wanted, until the man she thought she would wed rejected her. Dejected and reconsidering her lot in life, her father comes up with an opportunity that could change the course of her life and perhaps her reputation as well.
Declan MacCollough also knew one thing for certain: He did not want to follow in his father’s footsteps as Laird of the reputed “Beast Clan.”
Following his father’s death, Declan had a lot of work ahead of him to reclaim any sense of respect for his people. Families had fled; fathers would not permit their daughters to wed into the clan. Declan wanted, more than anything, to recreate his clan into one deserving of service to the King. The first step Declan must take is to find a wife with enough backbone to help him tame his clan, help it grow, and gain back respect.
Learning of Elayne and her reputation, Declan offers to wed the lass – an arranged marriage of sorts. With no other choices open to her, Elayne decides that the Laird of the Beast Clan is her best, if only, option.
What happens when she arrives is a strange and passionate meeting of the minds between herself and Declan. Playing on each other’s strengths, they maneuver around those who attempt to prevent the marriage as a play for power. However, Declan’s past affiliations with the King are not welcome by all, and the challenges to their marriage become the least of their worries.
Can Declan and Elayne trust each other enough to face the threats to the MacCollough clan and their very lives?

Happy Wine Wednesday everybody! I know I've been MIA the last couple of weeks but now I'm back with a hot, new pairing for you. This week's wine / book love affair is brought to you by USA Today Bestselling Author, Pamela Clare's Barely Breathing and Mile High Winery's American Zinfandel. I put these two together after finishing the book to show a little love to my home state. Both the wine and the author are home grown Coloradans and Clare's amazing Colorado High Country series is all Colorado mountain life, all the time.
I've been a fan of Clare's books for a long time and really love her historical romances but Barely Breathing brings the small town, mountain setting to life. Throughout the book, I found myself shaking my head and thinking, 'Yup. I know these people.' There's a lot of action in the books to keep you on the edge of your seat, hot, sexy romance and a bunch of hunky, mountain climbing rescue team heroes. Yay, Colorado! Be sure to add this book to your TBR and grab yourself a glass from The Mile High Winery to go with. Again, my F'sWB -friends with books ;), happy Wine Wednesday and happy reading!
A hot contemporary romance from the author of the acclaimed I-Team series…
Lexi Jewell left Scarlet Springs twelve years ago, vowing never to return to the small Colorado mountain town where she grew up. Now, here she is—over thirty, out of a job and with little choice but to move back in with her eccentric father. Lexi knows it’s just a matter of time before she runs into Austin Taylor, her first boyfriend and her first heartbreak. She’s determined to show him she’s over him—until he steps out of a pickup truck and back into her life, looking sexy as hell in his mountain ranger uniform.
As far as Austin is concerned, Lexi can turn her snazzy little convertible around and drive back to Chicago. After all, she ripped his teenage heart to pieces and turned her back on the town he loves. But from the moment he sees her again, he can’t get her out of his mind. Even her smile messes with his head.
When an evening of conversation turns into something else, Lexi and Austin agree to be friends—with benefits. But as Lexi starts making plans to return to the big city, Austin realizes he’ll lose her a second time unless he can show her that what she’s searching for has been right here all along.

I want him. More than anything. But he’s one bad boy.
The things he wants. They’re carnal, lustful things and I can’t get them—or him—out of my mind.
Devon Prescott knows how to impose his will.
He’s a viper in a Brioni handmade suit.
Ruthless in the board room, he’s even more relentless in the bedroom.
He’s a freakin’ Adonis. It scares me that I want him so much.
When I’m with him I feel safe. I feel love. I feel a yearning.
He knows that he rocks my world. That he is the stuff of my dreams.
So he wants things.
Things I’m afraid to give him.
He tells me I’m his in the most romantic of terms. That he worships my body.
That I must trust him.
I don’t deny it. Some of the things he wants stir me deep inside.
They’re sexy and dirty and forbidden.
Am I willing to be touched? To be shared?
If I give into my dream lover’s deepest desires, will I lose myself in the process?
When I Dream of You is a full-length, 85,000-word standalone steamy romance.
